CPR 4 ALL is a novel concept at MDS. The goal is to provide students, parents, faculty and administration in-house instruction in BLS (basic life support) techniques. Classes will begin in September of 2007 and will be held in a variety of formats. One great format is to have parents and their children learn about BLS together in a stress free and familiar school environment. The Alumni Association has also purchased an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) which will be installed at the school for emergency use at all times. This state of the art technology is in use around the world in places of public gathering and is instrumental in saving lives of people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Part of the BLS class curriculum includes instruction for the use of this critical, life saving device. Classes will be taught according to American Red Cross and American Heart Association standards by Dr. Gabriel Aslanian ('88) and other certified BLS instructors. Please contact the association to be a part of this great program.
